LED Reliability Tool




The LED Reliability Tool (LRT) allows users to truly predict the lifetime of the LUXEON® LEDs in their lighting application as a function of junction temperature and current.  Furthermore, the LRT incorporates information on the statistical distribution of the LED population that will meet the lumen maintenance criteria.

 

4 major LED reliability parameters for Analyzed Area:

  • (Bxx, Lyy): the xx proportion of a LED population that is expected to be less than the yy lumen maintenance criteria

  • Lifetime: # of hours that will meet the lumen maintenance criteria with a 90% confidence interval

  • LED junction temperature: the higher the Tj, the lower the lifetime

  • LED forward current: with all other variables remaining constant, the higher the current, the higher the Tj and the lower the lifetime
